How to make Iced Coffee at home

The easy way how to make Iced Coffee at home

Spring has sprung and Summer is just around the corner, so you may be thinking  how you can still enjoy your coffee at home without melting like the wicked witch of the west...... Hello, Iced Coffee!

A coffee addicts summer saviour, Iced Coffee can be made in many, many, different ways. With Syrup to make it a flavoured sweet treat, with your favourite alcohol to make the iced coffee a bit cheeky or just straight up, plain iced coffee.

So, how do I make Iced Coffee at home anyway?

Below you will see a basic recipe for an iced coffee base, it is very versatile and can be adapted to your taste. Everyone is different in their coffee strength preferences ( if you're like me, then you like a pretty strong, dark, sweet brew) so you may need to play around with the recipe until you find your favourite strength.

Iced Coffee Recipe

  • Brew double strength Espresso using ground coffee such as Immortal or Reaper
  • Add sugar to taste - wait for sugar to dissolve ( skip this part if not using sugar)
  • Let the Iced Coffee cool at room temperature ( you can put it in the fridge to speed it up but we prefer to let it adjust in it's own time)
  • Pour over half a glass of ice cubes
  • Top up with milk and stir

PRO TIP

To stop the coffee becoming too diluted use frozen coffee ice cubes.

So there you have it, Iced Coffee in it's basic form, you can jazz it up by adding some Ice Cream for a coffee flavoured ice cream float ( doesn't that sound yummy?) or some flavoured sweetness like Maple Syrup or why not try a flavoured coffee base such as Caramel Flavoured Coffee or Pumpkin Spice flavour coffee?
